Welcome to my playground!
I will be slowly publishing a two year compilation of short stories aimed at conveying the various ways in which that Voice can manifest, in a similar fashion as Neil Gaiman did with his Sandman Series. Originally, I planned on organizing my material into a book then creating a promotional website, but I’ve discovered this idea to be so inspiring and uplifting for me and those few I’ve described it to, that I chose to begin with the site. This way I can share and explore this idea with readers and friends in ways I could not have hoped to with only a book. And since publishing can be a drag (*cough* scam), I figured this would be a more meaningful way of conducting my reeesearch. My mission for this site is to experiment with the ideas I have so far, edit my stories, remain disciplined enough to work a little each day, explore related cultural examples and personal interpretations from readers, in order to have a near complete book by the time my baby is born (due: Feb, 5th 2011). Be aware that my posts are not in the order I would have them published as a book in. As I organize my materials more and more, I will create a page recommending the best reading order. Until then, enjoy the overall idea of this project!
Here is a general description of the idea:
That Voice refers to the various manifestations created by our adaptive minds to fulfill basic human needs, primarily companionship (or more accurately, a voice besides one’s own). Follow as I explore my relationship with a psychological manifestation in an effort to understand the purposes he serves and how the that Voice idea might unify such disciplines as theology, psychology, cosmology, and anthropology.
